Add in the ability to prevent a customer from being used on a quote or workorder.
The purpose of this would be to prevent a customer with a bad debt or some other reason the company doesn't want to work with them from being added to a quote or workorder.
Security could be setup so an admin user can add the customer but a basic user couldn't.

Under the customers tab we have just created a "Naughty List" category that you can switch clients into so when you go search for them, they pop up under the bright red "NAUGHTY LIST" that is impossible to miss, along with a note on the main client file screen that says what they did to deserve this classification. I know this is not a permanent option to make a client inactive but in the mean time, is a decent option to separate out those clients you do not want to work for again.
