There should be a way to make inventory items that are unused or unavialable or cannot be deleted, inactive so they do not show up in searches.

I agree, now we have to ...___???. We change the item number and description to dots, dashes and symbols so they are not used. It is a nuisance and list is getting long. Wish they could just be set to inactive.
